CCRS promotes and organises the sport of target rifle shooting across the 4 cadet youth organisations; this is facilitated through a formal agreement between CCRS and the Ministry of Defence. Basic shooting instruction and training is completed within cadet units. CCRS then organises annual national finals in the disciplines of clay, air/.22, 5.56mm and 7.62mm. The charity’s competitions cater for around 1500 cadets annually. CCRS is also responsible for the whole organisation of 3 international teams – the UK Cadet Rifle Team (U17), the British Cadet Rifle Team (U18 and known as The Athelings) and the GB U19 Rifle Team.
